“Inter - Movement of Being” the second collaboration by video artist Edyta Stepien (originally from Poland) and dancer Ayako Kato (originally from Japan). Inter - Movement of Being is a video installation about reactions/interactions of the inner and outer physical world that originates from human desire. In five projected images, a performer reflects upon emotions in search of a correct placement of being. The movement involved in simple daily life gestures - taking, giving, reaching, rejecting, and stillness - is filtered out and becomes two dimensional. The speed and texture of the movement vary between the screens embodying an emotional state. The single performer that appears in the imagery and is able to move between the screens expands the movement in the tri-dimensional space and becomes an manifestation of the missing element - the movement of being.
