NonPhenomena - a multichannel video installation is a collaboration between video installation artist Edyta Stepien and sound artist Margaret Noble. For this installation Edyta filmed miniature abstracted landscapes and fragmented spaces she constructed out of natural and synthetic elements. This environments undergo changes caused by simulated natural forces, like strong winds, storms, floods or earthquakes. The sounds, melodies and textures designed by Margaret derived from the spectral analyses of pitches found in the field recordings of thunder, hurricanes and other violent natural phenomena. Non\Phenomena was presented at the Currents New Media Festival in Santa Fe as a single channel live audio/visual performance in 2011 and at the Chicago Art Department as a 7 channel video installation in 2012.
